2026 Highlights: what’s coming up?

Looking ahead, the AFS Network is keen to continue exchanging with you through upcoming webinars, including those on Resilience Thinking, Green Nexus and Thoughts for Food series, while also developing new themes or introducing new series, such as “Science for Food”, which will provide a space to discuss research and evidence related to food systems.

At the global level, 2026 does not appear to be a quiet year. We expect to closely follow major geopolitical trends, including the rise of artificial intelligence, decreasing funding for research and data, shrinking official development assistance, the fragility of multilateralism, and shifting global power dynamics. In the hope that these trends also open space for opportunities, we look forward to continuing these discussions with you through our webinars and new communication channels.
