Deep Dive Agroecology 3: Financing for agroecological transformation

Event Date
ENG-FR translation available
Agroecological transitions require investment, but their financing needs differ from conventional agricultural development. Farmers face transition costs and risks; organisations and SMEs need capital to develop services and markets; public goods such as knowledge, collective action and ecosystem restoration may not generate direct financial returns; and governments need resources to turn strategies into action.
There is therefore no single financing solution. This webinar will explore what needs to be financed, by whom, and which financing mechanisms are best suited to different parts of an agroecological transition, while ensuring that finance supports its principles and transformative ambition.
Agenda:
- Introduction
- Understanding the financing gap & financing instruments
- Concrete examples of innovative financing mechanisms
- Q&A
- Closing
This third session is part of our Deep Dive series on Agroecology.
