Up to 40% of the world’s land is already degraded, threatening food security, water resources, livelihoods, and ecosystem health. This August, global attention turns to the UNCCD COP17 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, a key milestone in advancing action against desertification, land degradation, and drought.
At the heart of these efforts lies Sustainable Land Management (SLM), a cornerstone for achieving Land Degradation Neutrality (LDN) and restoring the productivity and resilience of landscapes. With nearly 77% of its land affected by degradation, Mongolia highlights the urgency of translating global commitments into local action—particularly during the International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists.
Join our upcoming webinar to explore how SLM contributes to sustainable food systems, supports LDN objectives, and can be scaled through enabling policies and successful landscape approaches.
