Virtual dialogue co-organized by IFAD ECG Nutrition, PMI, and ESA aiming to advocate for sustainable and inclusive food value chains that meet the nutritional demands of consumers in the African region.

Webinar: 5 December 2024, 14:30 - 16:00 EAT (16:30-18:00 CET)

In the context of the East and Southern Africa (ESA) Community of Practice on Nutrition-sensitive Food Systems, this event will gather experts, policymakers, and stakeholders to explore the significant challenges and opportunities facing the agri-food sector and importance in investing in MSMEs and enhancing private-public partnership to tackle all forms of malnutrition.

Key topics include:

  • Innovations and technologies promoting sustainable food products developed by small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
  • Strategies for reducing food loss and waste while ensuring sustainable consumption.
  • Policy and investment options to enhance nutrition-sensitive value chains.

As we look ahead to the Nutrition for Growth Summit in March 2025, this dialogue will provide an important platform to contribute insights and recommendations that align with global efforts to address malnutrition and transform food systems. The event features esteemed speakers from the Rockefeller Foundation, Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), and the Ajinomoto Foundation, along with young and women entrepreneurs showcasing their innovations in creating nutritious, local, affordable products that support healthy diets. Your participation will help define key issues and recommendations that can shape the future of food security in the region.
